Earning the Shirt

This past weekend Mom, Dad, Spencer, and I went to Greer for a wedding. We stayed at the Perkin's house Friday night, and decided to wake up early Sat and run/walk in the road races they had that next morning. Mom and Dad did the 1/4 mile walk-jog. It was nice to see that Mom did it with out pain and didn't get sore! (next year she is going further) Spencer did the 3.26K and I ran the 10K. It was lots of fun and what I really enjoyed was everyone participated and had a good time. PLUS they served breakfast and we all got t-shirts!

Labeling your Posts

Hey everyone. I set up a "Labels" section on the right hand side of the screen. This will help make it easier to find an older post instead of looking through the archive. All you have to do to do categorize your posts is type your post as usual and then at the bottome of the box where you type your post there is a section that says "lables for this post." You can type in a new label or click on "show all" to put it in with a label that already exists. Let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Birthday Amy!

Another Classic Wendy Story...

I was at Wendy's house last week swimming in the pool with all of the kids. She was coming out to watch Carter so I could swim some laps. But first she was helping Tanner and Cameron get the basketball hoop set up by the pool. After helping them, she turned around to go take her shirt off before getting in the pool. Unfortunately, she did not see the foam swimming board laying on the ground----she slipped on it and fell head first into the pool--letting out a little scream! Luckily she was ok, because it was pretty funny!!

Unfortunately, I didn't get the fall on camera so I thought I would add this "classic" picture in!

Vacation

We had many recommendations to have the Forsberg Family go on a trip to Rocky Point so EVERYONE is invited. It is kinda short notice but want everyone to know we want you to come. We were able to get the beach house the first weekend of August. We are planning on going Friday (Aug 3) and coming home Sunday after church (Aug 5). The beach house has 4 bed rooms 2 bath a familyroom, kitchen, and a deck. By all means it is not in the best shape but does the job. Each room has a little cooler, two twin beds (we just push together, although one room has 3 or 4 twin beds), tile flooring, and the familyroom has a couch bed. Another thing to warn you about is the water. The city only lets your have so much water, but you are able to shower each day but have to be careful to not run out. It is on a private beach so it is not that crowded. The house is not far from the beach but there is a hill involved. It is so much fun. Please let us know if you can come, even if you have to drive down later or leave earlier. You don't have to have passports to get down there but recommend getting car insurance. It is a total 3.5 hours to get there and really easy. We hope that everyone can come, let us know so we know how many people to plan on.

lake Powell

start submitting ideas for food for dinners--so far suggestions are, chicken pasta salad, lasagna, fajatias (spelling) carne asada, spaghetti--think simple and easy--even things we could freeze ahead and take. Any thoughts on breakfast and lunch. Do you all like the idea of dividing up and assigning out different nights for some to be in charge of dinner and clean-up? Drinks shouldn't be a problem--with the fountain things on board we can take along bottled water.

Tips for playing outside...

I went out back this morning with my son Carter to play (I was still in my pajamas and no shoes on). After about a half-hour we went to go inside and the door was locked!! My first attempt at climbing the fence did not go well as Carter was standing below me screaming. So I turned on the hose for him (he absolutely loves playing in water) and sprinted across the yard to try again. I jumped down on the other side landing on the rocks in my bare feet and only managed to get one scrape on my arm from the wall. I ran to the front and opened our garage. I made it out back to find Carter happily playing with the hose, not even noticing that I was gone. Moral of the Story: When you are going outside to play, Always make sure your door is unlocked before you shut it behind you!

The Revival of the Bunkbeds
